Sara Smith Obituary

Sara Nell Smith, sixty-seven, of Rome, Georgia passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023. She was born to the late James Edward Camp and Nellie Camp on August 18, 1955.

She is survived by her husband Albert Smith, her son Robert Lee Farmer, her grandchildren Leigha Reese, CJ Trammell, Cheyenne Famer, Shannon Farmer, and Levi Farmer, and her sister Tina Walraven.

In addition to her parents, Sara is preceded in death by her first husband Billy Farmer, her daughter Sherry Lynn Farmer and her brothers Harold Camp, Robert Camp, Sam Camp, and Earl Camp.

Having given her life to the Lord in her youth, Sara was a faithful worshipper of North Rome Baptist Church.

Sara’s favorite creature on earth was the hummingbird. Their petite and delicate features endeared them to her, and she felt that their presence symbolized joy and love. Her fascination with hummingbirds translated into her love of Tweety Bird. Oftentimes, Tweety Bird is portrayed as a tiny underdog facing off against bigger, stronger, and more menacing foes which he always ended up overcoming. Sara was always rooting for the underdog and never lost hope in knowing that a person’s past had very little to do with how much they accomplished in life.

A Graveside Service will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 11:00AM. Pastor Paul Vinson will be officiating.

Pallbearers include Ronnie Walraven, Sammy Walraven, Byron Sisson, Lisa Sisson, Ann Floyd, Christy Henderson.

Parnick Jennings Sr. - Good Shepherd Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
