Shirley Ann Sheffield Taylor of Rome, Georgia passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025. She was born in Bartow County, Georgia on October 3, 1938. Daughter of the late Luther Sheffield and the late Mary Lou Jones Sheffield.

Shirley was a resident of Rome most of her life. She graduated from Rome High School in 1957, was a graduate of Floyd College in 1976 and received her BS degree from Shorter College in 1979.

After 40 years of employment with Inland Paperboard and Packaging, Inc. and predecessor companies, Shirley was serving as an accountant in the Woodlands Division when she retired in 2001.

Her husband of over 38 years, William Bennett Taylor preceded her in death in March 2001.

Shirley was a member of Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be at Good Shepherd Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 22 at 11:00a.m., with Reverends Clyde Hampton and Mac McCurry officiating. Interment will be at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at Good Shepherd Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
