Susan Kathleen Rothe, a loving sister, aunt and friend, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, in Rome, Georgia, at the age of 71. Known to her loved ones as Kathy,
Born on February 20, 1952, in Buffalo, NY, Kathy's radiant spirit, boundless compassion, and zest for life cast an indelible impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. A devout member of the Pentecostal faith, she was an integral part of Community Worship in Conyers, GA.
Kathy was blessed with an innate ability to sense the emotional needs of those around her. Her words of encouragement were a balm to many, guiding them through life's trials. This, combined with her generosity, endeared her to many. She freely gave of herself, especially to those she believed were in greater need.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Duane Rothe. Left to cherish her memory are her special brother and sister, Bishop Freddy & Mrs. Cynthia Baldwin; her spiritual anchors for 27 years, Dr. Anthony & First Lady Tina Baldwin; and her cherished nephews, Ryan, Michael, and Gavin Baldwin (Sky). Kathy also leaves behind dear friends who were akin to family: Pastor Peyton Bostwick, Sister Brenda Livingston, Pastor Robert, and First Lady Liz Griffin.
A fervent churchgoer, Kathy's passion for her faith was evident in her service as a dedicated church greeter. Her commitment to daily devotions and Bible study was testament to her deep love for Jesus and the teachings of the Pentecostal faith.
Outside the church, Kathy was a whirlwind of creativity, exploring crafts, sewing, painting, and coloring. Every piece she created was imbued with the same joy and love she spread throughout her life.
The family invites loved ones to join them for a memorial service on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 4:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30165. The service will be officiated by Dr. Anthony Baldwin and Pastor Peyton Bostwick.
