Tammie McGinnis Obituary

In Loving Memory of Tammie Deneen McGinnis
April 29, 1964 – June 11, 2026

Tammie Deneen McGinnis, age 62, of Rome, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Born on April 29, 1964, in Rome, Georgia, Tammie was the daughter of the late William Terry and the late Sharah Pruitt Terry. She spent her life in the community she loved, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and unwavering love for others.
Tammie was the kind of person who never met a stranger. Her warm smile, caring heart, and welcoming spirit made everyone feel like family. Throughout her working years, she dedicated herself to serving others, spending 19 years in the paint department at Lowe's, 10 years with Fairbanks, and several years with Sam's Club. Whether helping a customer, encouraging a coworker, or sharing a laugh with a friend, Tammie had a special way of making people feel valued and appreciated.

Outside of work, Tammie found joy in life's simple blessings. She loved animals, gardening, cooking, traveling, and spending time with the people she loved. Above all else, her grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Guided by her Baptist faith, Tammie lived with compassion, generosity, and a deep love for family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Johnny McGinnis; her loving son, Derrick Buck; her cherished grandchildren, Kaleb Buck (Preslee), Tinsleigh Buck, and Tatelyn Buck; her sister, Karen Gregory; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

In addition to her parents, Tammie was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Ashley Spradlin.

Though her absence leaves a tremendous void, the love, laughter, and kindness Tammie shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, selfless nature, and the countless lives she touched throughout her life.

Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now resting peacefully, reunited with those who have gone before her. Tammie's memory will forever be a blessing to all who loved her.
