In Loving Memory of
Tammie Yvonne Pickelsimer
December 17, 1957 - December 09, 2024
Tammie worked at Mondo bakery in Rome, Georgia for 13 years. Later she was on the cleaning team of one of Rome‘s local hospitals and cleaned houses on the side. She married John and moved to Cedar Bluff Alabama on Lake wise on the waterfront. She loved her jet ski and started a lawn cutting business that she enjoyed as much as the jet ski. she was a member of Cedar Bluff first Baptist Church in Cedar Bluff, Alabama. When her dad‘s health started decline she and John moved in with her parents to provide care for both parents. Tammie has always been a very hard-working woman, cutting lawns trimming hedges, even painting her parents’ garage. If you ever stopped and took the time to talk with her, you were her new friend. She had unconditional love, and was also forgiving of others. For those of you that knew Tammie, know that you were blessed.
Tammie was often teased by her brothers for being born in Detroit, Michigan, and being the only Yankee in the family. Tammie could never have children, but if you brought a baby or a young child around her, you would almost have to ask for it back. If you won her love, she was dedicated to you always caring for others. She cut grass for single mothers and wouldn’t charge them for anything. She was very close to her aunt Goldie, who had lost her leg, but Tammie would pick her up and take her to the doctors’ appointments and shopping spend time with her and take her by to see her sisters.
If you ever heard Tammie talk, you would never realize that she had ever been in the north at all. She had that old time country draw in her voice and pronounce items the way her grandmother did such as Getty instead of spaghetti, sanich instead of sandwich, matter instead of, onmoher instead of Lawn Mower. Many a folk would ask her to talk and they loved to listen to her southern draw. She would normally greet you with guess what I did yesterday.
My baby sister Tammie Yvonne was killed in a car crash Monday 9 December 2024 shortly after 11 AM. Tammie was a very sweet affectionate and caring sister. She has been living with and taking care of our parents and was very attentive to Dad 91 before he passed 26 January 2024. Since then, she has been taking care of our mother who turned 91 on December 1, 2024 Tammie loved the socialize and had a laugh that was Infectious.
A hard worker, she wanted to help others any and every way she could she even cut the yards of single parents for free if you took the time to talk with her for a few minutes you were her newest friend. She loved animals, especially dogs because she had the same nature that dogs have, unconditional love, and an oh so forgiving of others. A gentle spirit that was taken way too soon. She would’ve been 67 on 17 December 2024. On behalf of mom Dorothy, my brother Mike and myself and our family…
Tammie is survived by her loving mother Delona Adams, her brothers Dillard Eugene Adam and Mike Scott Adams. She is preceded in death by her dear father Charles Dillard Adams and her brother Tony Lemar Adams.
Thank all of you for your prayers and concerns. For those of you that new Tammie know that you were blessed.
