In Loving Memory of Thomas Lane Dean

April 1, 2006 – April 16, 2024

Thomas Lane Dean, 18, of Rome, Georgia, lost his valiant fight for life on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Born to Angela Denise Massingill and the late Thomas Jefferson Dean, III, in Rome on April 1, 2006, Thomas was a beacon of strength and resilience throughout his life.

Despite the challenges life threw at him, Thomas's determined spirit remained unbroken. From his birth with Type 1 diabetes to his victorious battle with cancer as a child, he faced each day with unmatched courage. His smile and bright blue eyes were an inspiration of hope, could light up any room, deeply influencing those around him with his perseverance and zest for life.

A true adventurer at heart, Thomas had an unwavering passion for the outdoors. He was an avid dirt biker and four-wheeler enthusiast, thriving on the thrill of mastering challenging terrains and pushing the limits of speed and agility. These hobbies were not just pastimes but a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for the natural world.

Thomas also took pleasure in target shooting, where he skillfully honed his precision and focus. These moments outdoors, whether on a trail or at a range, were cherished times of freedom and joy for him.

Above all, Thomas's heart was filled with love for his family. He leaves behind his loving parents, Josh and Denise Ulrich; his brothers, Jayse Ulrich and Silas Godwin; his sister, Harlee Sky Dean; and his niece, Elena Dean. Each family member held a special place in his heart, with unique bonds that sustained him through his toughest days. His special person, Jayla Malone, also remains to cherish his memory.
