Thomas B. Thompson, 68, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born in Chattooga County, Georgia, on November 28, 1955, Thomas was the beloved son of the late Melvin and Thelma Thompson.
Buck's life was enriched by his deep connections with his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Tonia Thompson, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge. He leaves behind his children, Jessica Allred (Ryan), Michael Thompson (Allison) and Harley Langley (Logan), who brought immense pride and joy into his life. Thomas adored his grandchildren, Jack Allred, Chandler Allred, Warner Langley, and Presley Langley, finding delight in their laughter and milestones. He is also survived by his brother, Dan Thompson, and two sisters, Connie Beasley and Peggy Tanner.
In addition to his immediate parents, Buck held dear memories of his brothers, Greg Thompson, Ronnie Thompson, Jim Thompson, and Donnie Thompson, who have now reunited with him in eternal peace.
Buck was an active member of Masonic Lodge #100, where he found fellowship and camaraderie. He took great pride in his role as a father of three daughters and reveled in the joys of grandfatherhood. A man of diverse interests, Thomas found solace in the outdoors, particularly through his love for riding horses. He had a passion for music and could often be found strumming his guitar and singing soulful tunes. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was a devoted member of Calhoun Avenue Baptist Church. Thomas's genuine love for people knew no bounds, and he had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued. He cherished moments spent playing Rook with loved ones, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and camaraderie.
The community is invited to join in honoring Thomas's remarkable life at a service to be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Calhoun Avenue Baptist Church. Visitation will commence at 12:00 PM, followed by the service at 1:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Barry McCulough.
