In Loving Memory of
Tony Lee “TT” Tyler
June 28, 1956 – January 8, 2026
Tony Lee “TT” Tyler, of Rome, Georgia, passed into eternity on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the age of sixty-nine. He was born on June 28, 1956, in Rome, Georgia, to Huey Tyler and Virginia Simpson Tyler. From his earliest days, Tony carried a quiet strength and steady resolve, shaped by loyalty, faithfulness to duty, and pride in honest work well done.
Tony was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Randy Davis Tyler, and by his parents, Huey and Virginia Tyler. He is survived by his cherished daughters, Rhiannon Tyler Nicholson (Michael) and Julia Tyler Harris, who were his greatest joy and the living continuation of his legacy. He is also survived by his former wife, Debra Climer; his stepsons, Jeremy Tracy (Amy) and Adam Tracy (Kelli); and his grandchildren, Grace Nicholson Henry (Aaron), Grant Nicholson, Genna Kate Nicholson, Jordan York (Josie), Trent Jacobs, and Trace Harris, along with many step-grandchildren. He was especially proud to be a great-grandfather to Jayleigh York, a precious new light in the family.
Tony is further survived by his brother, David Tyler; his sisters, Pamela Sheppard and Mitzi Jeter; and a wide circle of extended family and friends who shared in his life’s journey.
Tony devoted his professional life to Georgia Power Company, where he began his career in Power Generation within the Operating Department. Through dedication and skill, he was promoted into Skills Development within the GPC Training Organization, where he served as a Senior Methods and Training Specialist. In this role, Tony provided training services to electric utility companies across the country and around the world. He concluded his career as a GPC Safety Advisor in Power Generation, earning deep respect for his knowledge, reliability, and genuine concern for others.
Outside of work, Tony found joy in life’s quieter pleasures. He collected stamps and coins, worked skillfully with wood, and was a dependable handyman to many. He loved golf and played it well, enjoyed card games with family and friends, and had a deep appreciation for music, especially classic rock. A guitar was never far from reach, and his gentle humor and natural wit made him a beloved jokester among those who knew him best. Above all, Tony treasured time spent with his family, which remained the center of his life.
Those who knew Tony will remember him as a man of integrity and resolve, someone who sought no recognition yet left the world better through his service, craftsmanship, guidance, and devotion to family. His influence lives on in the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.
Services to honor Tony’s life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church, 101 Broadus Road, Rome, Georgia. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., with Gary Graves officiating.
Good Shepherd Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with the arrangements.
