Tyler Eugene Garner

Tyler Eugene Garner, a vibrant and talented young man who touched the hearts of all who knew him, left this world too soon on Saturday, June 3, 2023. His untimely passing has left a void that can never be filled, but his spirit and the love he shared will forever resonate in the lives of those he left behind. He is preceded in death by his aunt Wanda Michelle Garner.

Tyler was born on December 22, 1998, to John Eugene Garner and Tabitha Garner. In addition to his parents, Tyler leaves behind his life partner of twelve years and the love of his life Alejandra Nicole Cruz, their three daughters Sadi Elizabeth Cruz, Serenity Jo-Ann Cruz, and Selena Kaychelle Cruz, his brother Jonathan Blake Garner, his sister Rebecca Ann Garner, his nephews Isaiah Blake McCrinie and Grayson Taylor Babb, his uncle and aunt David and Rebecca Cothran, his godmother Michelle Harrison, his grandparents Kenneth and Nancy Babb, Bobby and Freda Garner, and David Cothran. His mother-in-law Kim Agan, several aunts, uncles and cousins living and deceased.

Tyler brought joy and happiness to his family from the very beginning. He possessed an extraordinary talent for capturing beauty on paper, often found with a pencil in hand, skillfully bringing roses to life through his artwork. His drawings reflected his soul, conveying a depth of emotion and creativity that inspired those who beheld them.

Music was a constant companion in Tyler's life. From the gentle melodies that soothed his soul to the energetic beats that stirred his spirit, he found solace and inspiration in the power of music. Through his favorite songs, he expressed his emotions and found comfort during both joyous and challenging times.

Basketball was not just a game for Tyler but a passion that burned brightly within him. Whether he was playing on the court or cheering from the stands, the exhilaration of the game fueled his spirit. His love for basketball connected him with others and created lasting bonds that transcended the boundaries of the court.

Nature beckoned to Tyler, drawing him to the great outdoors. The majesty of forests, the serenity of rivers, and the vastness of mountains spoke to his adventurous soul. He reveled in exploring nature's wonders, finding peace and serenity amidst its beauty. Fishing became one of his favorite pastimes, offering him both a connection to nature and moments of tranquility.

But above all, Tyler's heart belonged to his beloved Alejandra and their children. His love for them knew no bounds, and he cherished every precious moment spent in their company. He showered them with affection, support, and unwavering devotion, always striving to provide a loving and nurturing environment. His legacy lives on through the love and values he instilled in his children.

Tyler's family held a special place in his heart. He treasured the bonds he shared with his parents, siblings, and extended family. Their love and support throughout his life were a source of strength and inspiration. His memories will forever be cherished by those he held dear.

The family is holding a visitation service on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, with the funeral service following immediately at 4:00 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Following the funeral service, the interment will be at Beech Creek Cemetery. Rev Bobby Garner and Rev Steve Kelley will be officiating. 

Pallbearers include Jonathan Garner, Lucas Maynor, Dylan Miller, Dawson Miller, Steven Shedd, and Ronald Chambers. David Cothran is serving as the honorary pallbearer.
