Willburn Eugene Blaker

Willburn Eugene Blaker, 77, was born to the late Kenneth and Clora Blaker on November 11, 1946. He passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Willburn is preceded in death by his sister Shirley Willingham and Louise Comer McClanahan. He was a member of New Antioch Baptist Church.

Willburn was a driver for Rome Tobacco, Avery Drugs, and Piggly Wiggly before retiring. Upon retirement, he was able to increase the amount of time he got to enjoy two of his favorite pastimes: fishing and hunting. Williburn was an avid outdoorsman, and he relished the time he got to get out into nature and experience the thrill of the hunt. 

His most cherished time was spent with his precious nieces and nephews. He longed for those “kids say the darndest things moments” he witnessed from his nieces and nephews when they were young and he was not above making them laugh as he loudly reminisced about those moments as they got older.

A graveside service will be held at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 2:00 PM. Reverend Billy Rabern will be officiating.
