William Bostick Obituary

In Loving Memory of William Harold Bostick

March 12, 1970 – July 27, 2025

William Harold Bostick, fifty-five, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, his absence echoing like a bell rung in the hollows of those who loved him. He was a man whose passage through this world leaves behind more than the footprints of his labor. It leaves a shape in the air, a hush in the house, a silence that sings.

Born on March 12, 1970, in Enterprise, Alabama, a place not just named but felt in its red clay roads and pine-shadowed days, William came into the world as the son of James and Faye Bostick, both now gone on before him. He carried their memory with him like worn leather, weathered by time, softened by use, honored by love.

William lived as a man deeply rooted, yet wide-ranging. He made his home in Georgia, but his spirit wandered across highways and hills, down interstates and backroads, pulled by the call of new landscapes. He loved to travel, not merely for escape, but for expansion. He was the kind of man who found the sacred in small towns and the extraordinary in roadside cafes. But more than any far-off destination, it was his family that served as his compass, his anchor, and his true north.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Dana Bostick, whose name he carried like a promise and a prayer. He leaves behind two daughters, Kaitlin Bostick and Hannah Moore, each bearing the unmistakable imprint of a father's laughter, a father’s strength, a father’s steady heart. He is also survived by his brothers, Sam Bostick and Larry Bostick, and his sister, Alice Turnpaugh, each of them branches of the same tree, grown close, gnarled by seasons, and bound by the sap of shared blood and memory.

William was a man of quiet conviction and upright character. In the often-shadowed world of the car business, he became known not for trickery but for truth. His word was his contract, his handshake, and his bond. He was honest not because it was convenient, but because it was his way. Honest woven into the fabric of his being, and his trust was like thread in a well-worn suit. People knew this. They sensed it. They trusted him. Honor and truth was who he was.

For all his integrity, however, William was no stern stoic. He was a gentleman with a gleam in his eye, a joker who knew that joy had power. He knew how to laugh, how to make others laugh, how to lift a heavy moment with the ease of someone who’d carried burdens himself and learned they were lighter when shared. He was admired by many, loved by more, and respected quietly and enduringly by nearly all who crossed his path.

Services to honor William’s life will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, with the funeral to follow at 4:00 PM. Craig Bagwell will offer words of healing, memory, and encouragement. Andrew Beacham will read the eulogy, and Cliff Tappan will provide the music that lingers when the talking ends.

Good Shepherd Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with the arrangements for a man whose memory will outlast stone or shadow, for William was a man who will be remembered not merely for how he died, but for how he lived, and how deeply he loved.
