Mr. William Leon Justice, Jr, age 80, of Rome, passed peacefully Friday, July 4th, 2025, at home surrounded by loved ones.
Leon was born in Rome, Georgia on July 16, 1944, son of the late William Leon Justice, Sr. and the late Mary Lou (Shelley) Justice. A life-long resident of Rome, Leon was known as a devoted employee of many years at both Integrated Products, as well as Temple-Inland. Leon was a true lover of sports, especially NASCAR, the Rome Braves, the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons, but found the most joy in spending as much time as possible with his beloved grandchildren - just being PawPaw.
Leon was an active member of West Rome Baptist Church and poured his time and energy into Bloodline Believers INC, Reach Recovery, and The Feeding. His role in ministry was one of dependable support and genuine care. He was known for driving people to and from events, making sure that no one was left behind, and for faithfully running what became affectionately known as "Leon's Facebook Live Ministry". Through this outreach, Leon shared ministry events online so others could experience the power of God's presence and love.
Leon is survived by his loving wife, Merlene Ring Justice of Rome, Georgia, his children, Russell Justice (Danielle) of Rome, Georgia; William Lockwood, Jr. (Jessica) of Silver Creek, Georgia; Jonathan Lockwood (Adriana) of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Christine Sisson (Lamar) of Rome, Georgia, and Lacey Lockwood of Lindale, Georgia, and his grandchildren; Landon Lockwood, Jazuelynn Sisson, Eegan Lockwood, Austin Sisson, Conner Lockwood, Addison Lockwood, Jordyn Lockwood, Aiden Lockwood and Dani Justice.
Services to honor Leon's life will be held on Monday at 12pm at West Rome Baptist Church, with Jarrod Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 10am up until the time of service. Other speakers will include Landon Lockwood, William Lockwood, Austin Sisson, and Lamar Sisson. Pallbearers will include: William Lockwood, Landon Lockwood, Eegan Lockwood, Jonathan Lockwood, Lamar Sisson, and Austin Sisson.
A private graveside service will be held at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens at a later date.
