In Loving Memory of
William Keller Pierson
December 24, 1935 - November 26, 2025
In the turning of the long ages, when the year stood at its twilight and the world seemed to hold its breath, William Keller Pierson of Rome, Georgia passed beyond the circles of this earth at the age of eighty-nine. Born in Louisville, Illinois in 1935 to the late Elbert and Ruby Pierson, William’s first dawn broke in humble lands, yet the course of his life would be marked by steadfast labor, deep-rooted love, and the slow, enduring light of a life well lived.
Through the many seasons granted to him, William became as a strong oak in the midst of his family, offering shelter, counsel, and constancy. By his side walked his faithful wife the late LuAnn Burton Pierson of Louisville, Ill whose companionship was the truest fellowship of his long road. His sons, Randall Elbert Pierson (Mamie) and Curtis Lee Pierson (Beth), and his daughter, Kelly Pierson Lemon, were as branches springing from the sturdy trunk of his character. In them, the wisdom of his years found new soil.
And in the later chapters of his life, he found steady comfort and companionship with Ofreda Pierson, with whom he spent his remaining years
His grandchildren, Jordan Pierson, Hannah Pierson, Bradley Pierson, Patrick Pierson, Colton Lemon, and Clint Lemon were bright torches carried into the future. Each one of William’s grandchildren was a bearer of his quiet courage and gentle warmth. Fourteen great-grandchildren followed, like stars kindled in the firmament, ensuring that the story of his spirit will not soon fade.
William is also survived by his brother, John Pierson, and his sisters, Nancy Weidner, Betty Plemmons, and Janice Oliver, companions from the earliest chapters of his tale, bound to him by the deep lore of shared beginnings.
Many who journeyed before him now dwell where sorrow is forgotten: his brothers, Jim Pierson, Genie Pierson, Philip Pierson, and Darrell Pierson, and his sisters, Margaret Woods, Ruth Pierson, and Martha Pierson. Their memories twine with his like ancient songs carried on a timeless wind, and in that far realm where the faithful gather, their reunion is sure and everlasting.
William’s life moved in rhythm with the land he cherished. As a member of Unity Baptist Church, he walked his path with humble and unwavering faith. He delighted in the tending of gardens and the honest toil of his hands, finding in the earth’s quiet mysteries a peace that only those who truly listen can understand. Yet of all the gifts of his days, his greatest joy surpassing all labor, harvest, and the turning of seasons was the fellowship of his family. In their presence he found warmth, purpose, and the gentle triumphs that shape the heart’s deepest gladness.
A service to honor William’s life will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Cave Spring Cemetery. Where Allen Fuller will speak the words of remembrance . Mr. Pierson will then be laid to rest while the hills stand watch and the quiet earth shall keep him in peace until all stories are gathered at the world’s end.
Good Shepherd Funeral Home is deeply honored to have been entrusted with the arrangements.
