Robert Allen "Bob" Covington Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Robert Allen “Bob” Covington, age 76, of Rome passed away Sunday July 31, 2022 in a local hospital. Mr. Covington was born December 29, 1945, Cherokee County, Al. son of late Buford Allen Covington and Lula Mae Dover Covington. He was a member and former deacon of Sherwood Church, and did the video ministry at Sherwood Church. Mr. Covington was retired from General Electric after 30 years of service where he was a shop stuart. Mr. Covington was preceded in death by his siblings, James Covington, Leon Covington, Ruth Bishop, Nallie Covington, Nellie Green, Mary Lou Hilley, Ruby Jean Kinney. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Barbara Maloney Covington, son, Jeff Covington, daughters in love, Paige Taff, and Anjie Covington, grandchildren, Parker Covington, Cassidy (Mason) Clark, great grandchildren, Cason and Blakely Clark, sister, Edith Self, several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday August 5, 2022 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Ralph Jenkins, Dr. Charles Bishop. And Rev. Steve Bishop, officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 Am until the funeral hour on Friday. Pallbearers include the following gentlemen, are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 P.M. on Friday, Russell Head, David Bynum, Junior Kilgo, John Cornelison, Parker Covington, Mason Clark, Matt Dodd, and Scott Kilgo. Good Shepherd Funeral Home 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165 has charge of arrangements.
